The 2011 Focus PEEM workshop was successfully held in September. 21 Scientists from 8 different countries attended this year´s seminar. The workshop started with an introduction to PEEM and energy filtered PEEM including theory of operation.

Theory was followed by recent applications presented by Claus Schneider, Institut für Festkörperforschung, Forschungszentrum Jülich and Nicholas Barrett, CEA-Saclay. Over 5 different practical sessions in small groups included live demonstrations on a PEEM and a NanoESCA system. Finally the private atmosphere of the workshop lead to lively exchange between the different participants.
